In Jasprit Bumrah’s absence, Mumbai Indians’ (MI) bowling unit haven’t looked disciplined thus far in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Back in 2020, when MI lifted their last trophy under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, Bumrah along with star New Zealand pacer Trent Boult made vital contributions, picking up 52 wickets together. This year, Bumrah-Boult duo was expected to be in action for MI but the star India speedster couldn’t make it to the playing XI for Mumbai’s initial matches. The 31-year-old picked up a back issue during the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and following that, he was advised to stay away from the field for a few months. However, the wait has now impacted Mumbai, who have lost their first two IPL 2025 games in his unavailability.
After facing a couple of defeats in the competition, Mumbai fans will be delighted to watch Bumrah’s video, which is going viral on social media. In the clip, Bumrah can be seen bowling in the nets at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Captain Hardik Pandya will expect his men to show valour against KKR
Skipper Hardik Pandya will want his players to be disciplined against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on March 31. After two defeats in a row, MI will look to be tough hosts against the three-time IPL champions as another loss may push the Men in Blue away from the playoffs race.
Opener Rohit Sharma, who didn’t find himself among the runs in the first two matches, will strive to produce a solid knock from his bat. The veteran holds a fine record against Kolkata as he has hoarded 1070 runs with six half-centuries and a hundred in 34 outings.
