British tennis player Fran Jones experienced a concerning incident during her first-round match against Julia Riera at the Copa Colsanitas in Bogota, Colombia. While preparing to serve at 5-3 down in the final set, Jones collapsed on court, requiring immediate medical attention. She was later helped into a wheelchair and driven away for further examination.
The match had been competitive, with Jones winning the first set 6-2 and narrowly losing the second 7-5. The high altitude of Bogotá, situated at approximately 2,640 meters above sea level, may have contributed to her physical distress, though this has not been confirmed.
