The NASCAR Xfinity Series driver, Joey Gase, threw the rear bumper of his banged-up No. 35 Chevrolet Camaro at his opponent Dawson Cram’s No. 4 Chevrolet Camaro in frustration over their incident earlier in the race. Joey Gase was far from pleased about being turned around and sent into the wall by Dawson Cram at the Richmond Raceway.
It was lap 173 of the 250-lap NASCAR Xfinity Series race when Dawson Cram placed himself on the inside of Joey Gase entering Turn 1, which led to his No. 35 Chevrolet Camaro slamming hard into the nearby wall. The rear bumper of Joey Gase’s car was nearly ripped off due to a nasty collision, and the caution was out for the race.
Joey Gase managed to get out of his car before ripping off the rear bumper of the car. When he saw Dawson Cram coming towards his side of the track, he walked towards the inside lane before dumping the rear bumper over the No. 4 Chevrolet Camaro, in what could be considered a way of showcasing his outrage over the incident.
The first reaction from Joey Gase about getting sent into the wall by Dawson Cram was fiery, to say the least. He was quoted as saying to FS1, “I think him just not having his head screwed on right.”
“You know I gave the kid his first opportunity ever in Xfinity and I know [team owner] Johnny Davis is in the business of wrecking race cars and we're definitely not we're a small team and racing hard for the lucky dog and apparently he just didn't know how to lift. Maybe his throttle stuck, I don't know,” he added.
