Nate Diaz, the American MMA fighter, will take on Jorge Masvidal in a 10-round boxing match at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on June 1. During the promotion of the big fight at a press conference, when a fan threw a joint at him, the Stockton Slugger had no hesitation in lighting it up and smoking it on stage.

After Nate Diaz left UFC, ending his 15-year tenure at the MMA promotion, the 39-year-old became a free agent in 2022. Since then, he has entered the world of professional boxing, and last year, in his debut fight against Jake Paul, he suffered a defeat by a unanimous decision with the judges' scorecard reading 98-91, 98-91, 97-92.

In the press conference to build-up his boxing match against Jorge Masvidal, against whom he has already lost in the UFC, Nate Diaz was speaking when suddenly a fan threw a joint at him, a moment which he took hilariously. But, in a surprising turn of event, he lit up the joint and smoked in front of the world.

Meanwhile, while speaking to MMA Hour, Jorge Masvidal talked about the supposed preferential treatment wanted by Nate Diaz, which led to difficulties in negotiating the boxing match with him. He was quoted as saying, “He was like, ‘I won’t fight if it’s in New York. I won’t fight.’ I was like, what the f***? What’s the beef? This is boxing. That was in MMA [where] you got your ass whooped. But I get it. Alright.”

“Then another diva moment, he said he also wouldn’t fight if the fight is in Miami. ‘I’m not fighting if it’s in Miami.’ OK, cool. ‘Well, last time I had a bad experience with my boxing match in Texas, so I’m not fighting in Texas.’ What the f***?! To book a venue of that magnitude, it’s not like it can happen in a week or a weekend. It happens months in advance,” added Jorge Masvidal.
