Shakib Al Hasan-led Bangladesh registered a comprehensive win over Afghanistan in their World Cup opener at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on October 7, Saturday. After winning the toss, skipper Shakib Al Hasan invited the Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side to bat first. Skipper Shakib and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were the top wicket-takers for the side as the Bangladesh bowlers restricted Afghanistan to 156/10 in 37.2 overs. It was Miraz and Najmul Hossain Shanto who starred in the batting to take the side home, registering a six-wicket win.

However, Naveen-Ul-Haq, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Azmatullah Omarzai were among the wickets, the former was in the limelight with fans recalling the much-hyped fight between Naveen-ul-Haq and Virat Kohli. In a video now doing round on social media, the spectators took the opportunity to hit back at the Afghan pacer, giving “Kohli..Kohli” chants.

Talking about the incident, the Royal Challengers Bangalore star player was involved in a verbal fight with the Afghan international during the IPL 2023 match at the Ekana Cricket Stadium and the moment got even heated when the two refused to shake hands.
