While Nepal already ended their chances to qualify for the Super 8 stage in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, they played their last group stage game against Bangladesh, who needed a win to qualify for the next stage. During the match at the  Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent, a Nepal fan showed his enthusiasm as he avidly celebrated a wicket by jumping into the stadium's swimming pool.

In Group D, South Africa and Bangladesh qualified for Super 8 while Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, and Nepal got eliminated. On Sunday, Bangladesh beat Nepal by 21 runs, courtesy of Tanzim Hasan Sakib's lethal bowling attack. However, one incident involving a Nepal fan grabbed the attention of many as he excitingly celebrated a wicket.

After winning the toss, Nepal invited Bangladesh to bat first and kick-started the game with a wicket on the first ball. Following that, Bangladesh lost four wickets in the powerplay at a score of 30 runs. In the final over of the powerplay, Nepal skipper Rohit Paudel dismissed Bangladesh's Towhid Hridoy at 9 runs as Sandeep Lamichhane grabbed a decent catch. On the wicket, a Nepali fan took the celebration to the next level as he jumped into the swimming pool at the stadium.

The ecstatic moment grabbed everyone's attention as ICC shared the video in collaboration with the Nepal Cricket on Instagram. Despite bowling out Bangladesh at 106 runs with three balls remaining, Nepal failed to chase the target and lost the match by 21 runs. Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib picked up four wickets in his four overs bowling 21 dot balls, which is a T20 World Cup record.

After winning the match against Nepal and the Netherlands losing against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh clinched a spot in Super Eights. Najmul Hossain Shanto's side are now placed in Group 1 alongside India, Australia, and Afghanistan.
