New Zealand women's rugby team defeated World No.1 England women's team for the fifth time in the Women's Rugby World Cup 2021 on Saturday at the Eden Park in Auckland. Ahead of the match against, the Black Ferns laid down the challenge with an intense Haka.
After their previous clashes in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2017, it was the fifth time these teams have met in the women’s World Cup final and New Zealand emerged victorious on all the five occasions. The Black Ferns defeated the Red Roses 34-31 in the 2021 final to claim their sixth world title.
Ahead of their fixture, the five-time world champions performed their traditional Haka dance in front of the two-time winners, England team. Watch the intense video:
Both the teams displayed incredible performances in the women's Rugby World Cup final as England came back from going down to 14 in the first 20 minutes. However, it was a clinical performance at the end by the Black Ferns that helped them to snap the Red Roses' 30-game winning streak.
While New Zealand defeated France 25-24 in the semi-final, England beat Canada 26-19 to reach the final. This was the Black Ferns' sixth World Cup victory in last seven editions.
