Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes became a centre of attention after his indecent chant against the rivals Sunderland during the Carabao Cup celebration. The club was celebrating their first domestic trophy win in 70 years. Guimaraes couldn’t control his emotions and sang his teammate Sandro Tonali’s chant, which took aim at Newcastle’s arch-rivals Sunderland. The chant was 'Sandro Tonali, he eats spaghetti, he loves Moretti, he hates f***ing Sunderland'. Newcastle looked pleased with their renowned captain’s act. The Magpies concluded their long wait for the domestic title win after getting the better of Liverpool by 2-1 in the Carabao Cup final, played in Wembley on March 16.

Guimaraes played all games in the competition, except for the first leg of the semi-final against Arsenal, played at the Emirates Stadium on January 8. The open-top bus kicked off its journey at St James' Park and ended its tour in the Town Moor. Newcastle ended their Carabao Cup campaign after beating Nottingham Forest on penalties in the second round. The triumph was followed by victories against AFC Wimbledon, Chelsea, and Brentford prior to the success against Arsenal in both legs of the semi-final.

Ant and Dec lead Newcastle’s bus parade

Geordie duo Ant and Dec were seen leading the celebrations as thousands of Newcastle supporters hoarded the streets for the parade. Both TV stars got emotional at the Home of Football during the title celebration. They also got prime seats for the parade to join the heroes of the win on the bus.

A massive poster of Newcastle manager Eddie Howe was also unveiled outside the iconic St James Park a few moments before the buses left to start their victory march. The crowd was also treated to the full final game prior to the parade.
