Mohammad Rizwan and Abdullah Shafique's tons helped Pakistan chase the World Cup record target of 345 runs against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, October 11 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. After the match, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam displayed a beautiful gesture as he gifted his jerseys to the Hyderabad ground staff.
Notably, Pakistan have played both their ODI World Cup 2023 warm-up games and matches against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in Hyderabad. The Men in Green received tremendous support from the Indian crowd in both of their World Cup matches at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.
Pakistan continued their winning run at the ongoing quadrennial showpiece after beating Sri Lanka by six wickets with 10 balls remaining. In a post-match sequence, Babar Azam, who failed to score big against the Lankans, showed his generous side by gifting his jerseys to the Hyderabad ground staff and also clicking pictures with them.
