The eighth edition of the T20 World Cup has reached its business end with the two semifinals and the final left to be played. After thirty thrilling matches in the Super 12 stage, the four finalists have been decided. While India and Pakistan have qualified for the knockout stage from Group 2, England and New Zealand have made it from Group 1.
England, New Zealand, and India had a smooth ride to the semi-finals but Pakistan had a bumpy ride with quite a few hiccups. The Babar Azam-led team were on the brink of elimination but made it through by winning the rest of their three games, along with the help of the Netherlands. With Pakistan qualified and looking good, the fans back in the country are relaxed and so are the cricket experts.
An example of this was seen during a live TV show involving former Pakistan legends Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, and Misbah Ul Haq. As the three cricketers were discussing the way forward for Pakistan at the T20 World Cup on A Sports, the anchor of the show called Akram “National Dhobi”.
The comments came when the three cricketers were answering questions from the fans as a part of #AskthePavillion. A fan posted a bizarre question asking if clothes really get clean if washed with Ariel detergent powder. Waqar Younis read the question for Akram who was left in splits. The former speedster then answered it on a light note saying, "I have been washing clothes for the last 10 years. Now, I am 56 years old. I can confirm that the clothes do get clean. Ariel. Ariel."
As Akram completed his answer, everyone on the panel was laughing out loud. It was then the anchor called Akram “National Dhobi”.
