Prasidh Krishna, the Indian right-arm fast bowler, delivered a fiery spell in the Maharaja T20 Trophy, ahead of his visit to Ireland for a three-match T20I series, starting on August 18. The 27-year-old, who was ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 campaign with Rajasthan Royals due to an injury, played his last match for India, a one-day international in Zimbabwe last year.
Before making an appearance for Mysuru Warriors against Hubli Tigers at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on August 13, Sunday, Prasidh Krishna was recuperating at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), located in the capital city of Karnataka. He had undergone surgery on his back to repair the lumbar stress fracture sustained earlier this year.

Notably, in the second match of the Maharaja T20 Trophy, Manish Pandey, the captain of Hubli Tigers, won the toss and chose to field first on a decent batting surface at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The bowlers responded to his call in a fine manner, picking up key wickets for Mysuru Warriors at regular intervals.
Mitrakanth Singh was the best bowler on the day for the Tigers, who got three crucial scalps for his team, to help restrict the Warriors to a paltry total of 111/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Ravikumar Samarth top scored for the batting side, but his 21 took 24 deliveries, including just one four in the innings.
While defending the target, Karun Nair, the captain of Mysuru Warriors, gave the first over to Prasidh Krishna on his return to competitive cricket. The Indian fast bowler started with a quick first delivery, which swung back into Luvnith Sisodia, hitting him flush on his left hand.

Just two balls later, the 27-year-old bowled a beautiful inswinger, beating the left-handed batter all ends up before it smashed into his stumps. The rest of the spell from Prasidh Krishna was fiery too, but he wasn’t able to add to his wickets tally on the night.
Apart from Prasidh Krishna's spell of 1/13, no other bowler from Mysuru Warriors made an impression on Hubli Tigers, who chased down the reduced target of 80 runs, due to rain interruption, in just 8.1 overs, to win the match by 9 wickets. Mohammed Taha hit a sumptuous innings of 61 off 30 deliveries for the batting team, which included nine fours and three sixes.
