
Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Rajat Patidar showed a moment of respect before shaking hands with Chennai Super Kings batter MS Dhoni after the end of match number eight of IPL 2025 at M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The moment took place after RCB’s 50-run win over CSK, when the players from both the teams were shaking hands. Notably, Dhoni is one of the senior most player in the ongoing IPL edition and has a great respect among players and young cricketers from the other teams.
In a video posted by the official X handle the RCB players could be seen celebrating their historic win over CSK at Chepauk after 17 years. After that, RCB captain Rajat Patidar can also be seen removing his cap right before he was about to shake hands with Dhoni and put the cap back after that. In a video, Virat Kohli and Dhoni also shared a warm hug after the match.

Dream start for Rajat Patidar as RCB captain
RCB had a great start to their IPL 2025 campaign as they went on to win the first two matches against Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings respectively. It also turned out to be a dream start for Rajat Patidar, who is leading the franchise for the first time. Under his captaincy, RCB won their first two games at the away venue and are currently at the top of the points table.
Along with the captaincy, Rajat Patidar has also shown great form with the bat. He scored a quickfire 34(16) runs in the first game against KKR and went on to play a captain’s knock of 51(32) against CSK. He was adjudged player of the match for his knock which helped RCB to register a historic win at Chepauk. RCB are now set to face Gujarat Titans in their upcoming match at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 2.
