On Monday, as a head coach of Delhi Capitals, the two-times World Cup-winning captain was seen sharing his valuable insights and prowess with the young India and KKR batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi post the game.
After the Kolkata Knight Riders’ thumping victory over Delhi Capitals, India’s 2022 U-19 World Cup’s highest run-getter Angkrish made the most of Ponting’s coaching as he learned the nuances of how to execute perfect pull-shot. The former Australia skipper was seen giving lessons to the 18-year-old by holding his bat in a perfect position and echoing the exact height of the ball to execute the shot.
About the match, Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders’ raced to a clinical victory against the Delhi Capitals once again in their reverse fixture, thanks to the mystery spin of Varun Chakaravarthy and the brutal hitting by Phil Salt at the top of the order. Batting first, Delhi managed to score just 153/9 on a good Eden surface.
32-year-old Chakaravarthy returned with the figures of (3/16) in four overs followed by the jaw-dropping innings by Salt (68) while opening the innings.
