Rinku Singh, the Indian left-handed batter, showcased his power-hitting prowess once again, putting together three consecutive sixes in the Super Over to win the match for Meerut Mavericks in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League on August 31, Thursday. At the Green Park in Kanpur, he tore into the left-arm spinner Shiva Singh of Kashi Rudras, to chase down a tough target of 17 runs in the Super Over with ease.
For the unversed, the Meerut Mavericks had batted first in their first match of the UP T20, after their captain won the toss in the evening. The openers Swastik Chikara and Shoaib Siddiqui were dismissed in the powerplay by Shiva Singh, to halt their innings progression during the early stages.
But then, Madhav Kaushik played one of the best innings in the tournament so far, scoring 87 off 52 with nine fours and four maximums. He stayed not out till the end of the Meerut Mavericks' innings to help them post a very good total of 181/4 in their allotted 20 ov ers.

In the run chase, Kashi Rudras lost the wicket of Priyanshu Pandey in the first over without scoring a run. Then, Karan Sharma and Shivam Bansal stitched together a 103-run stand, completing their respective fifties to put their team in a commanding position.
This led to the Meerut Mavericks making a great comeback, picking up wickets at regular intervals. At one stage, they looked like winning the match, until Mohammad Sharim of Kashi Rudras smashed 16 runs in the last over to force a Super Over, which belonged to the left-handed batter Rinku Singh.
