Indian rising star Rinku Singh smashed another exceptional knock on Thursday in the quarter-finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Singh, who plays for Uttar Pradesh, helped his side post a score of 169 runs with the loss of three wickets against Punjab, led by Arshdeep Singh. The UP-born smashed an unbeaten knock of 77 runs off 33 balls with a stunning strike rate of 233.33.
Batting first, Uttar Pradesh had lost three wickets in 11.1 overs at a score of 53. The 26-year-old came to the team's rescue, and without losing any wickets for the side, the southpaw smashed six maximums and four boundaries to take the score to 169 runs. Singh contributed 77 runs in just 33 balls to give the team some stability.

In the last over of the innings, Singh scored 22 runs against Arshdeep Singh, and this knock solidified his future in the Indian senior team. Before this, the Kolkata Knight Riders player scored 21 runs in just 38 balls against Ireland. Along with this, the young star contributed 37 runs off 15 balls in the Asian Games 2023 against Nepal.
Speaking of the ongoing tournament, Singh has played the role of an efficient finisher for his side by scoring 22, 58*, 50*, 31*, 15, 3 and 77*. In seven games of the event, he has, so far, scored 256 runs at an average of 85.33 on a strike rate of 170.66.
