Tennis maestro Roger Federer is all set to return to professional tennis with the 2022 Laver Cup. The Swiss international will be playing a tournament after more than a year as he last participated in Wimbledon 2021. Since then, Federer has been out of action due to injuries. Now, as the 20-time Grand Slam champion is returning to action, the excitement among fans is unmatchable.

This excitement got further fuelled up when Federer shared a glimpse of his training session on Instagram. The Swiss shared a video of himself where he can be seen ripping a few forehands and doing a bit of a happy jump. The 41-year-old sported a red cap with his iconic 'RF logo' and a UNIQLO shirt with green shorts as part of his training kit. Federer expressed his love for tennis in the caption of the Instagram post.
Although fans would have wanted a bit more, this much update on Federer’s progress looks enough for now. He has already announced that he will be participating in the 2022 Laver Cup which starts 12 days after the conclusion of the US Open. It’s worth mentioning that Federer has been an integral part of this tournament ever since its inception. This year it’s going to be even better with the Big 4 playing on the same team.

Roger Federer will be joined by his great rivals Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray, and the quartet will represent Team Europe. “The Big 4 are in for London. Djokovic will join Nadal, Murray and Federer as teammates to defend the Laver Cup on Team Europe at The O2,” the caption of the post from the official social media handle of the tournament read.

After participating in the Laver Cup, the 20-time Grand Slam champion will feature in his home tournament, Swiss Indoors in Basel. The event is scheduled for October 22-30 and will be the 41-year-old's first ATP rankings event since last year's Wimbledon.
