Team India got off to a flier at Holkar Stadium in Indore as the hosts went past 200-run mark in 24th over. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill went berserk from ball 1 as the duo stitched 200-run partnership in just 145 balls. Both openers were in race to score century first and the milestones for both batters came in the same over.
Rohit and Shubman were on the score of 99 and 98, respectively, at the start of 25th over. While the Indian skipper reached the milestone with a single on the third delivery, youngster Shubman reached the three-figure mark with a boundary on the final ball of Blair Tickner's over.

However, the celebrations didn't last long for both the batters as they departed in space of next 10 balls. While Rohit got dismissed on 101, Gill departed on 112 to give New Zealand some respite.
