Gujarat Titans are taking on Mumbai Indians in match number nine of IPL 2025 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad as both the teams are looking for the first win of the season. With this match, MI skipper Hardik Pandya is also back in action after missing the last match. However, Pandya was also seen taking some insights from former captain Rohit Sharma during the match. Notably, Pandya made his return in MI ahead of last year’s IPL where he replaced Rohit as captain.
However, Rohit Sharma, who led MI to five IPL titles, still plays as a senior player for the franchise and provides his insights to current captain Hardik Pandya whenever needed. In the recent game against GT as well, Pandya was seen taking Rohit’s advice while setting up the field as GT were batting first. Rohit himself took the matter in his own hands for a while and guided the fielders.

Sai Sudharsan’s 63 guides GT to 196/8
Talking about the match, MI won the toss and asked the hosts GT to bat first. Skipper Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan gave GT a good start with an opening partnership of 78 runs in 8.3 overs. Gill got out after scoring 38(27) runs, hitting four fours and a six. After that, Jos Buttler joined Sudharsan at the crease as both added another 51 runs before the fall of the second wicket.
Jos Buttler got out after scoring 39(24) with five fours while Sai Sudharsan top scored with 63(41) runs, hitting four fours and two sixes as GT almost reached the 200-run mark. For MI, Hardik Pandya took two wickets, while Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Satyanarayana Raju scalped a wicket each.
