The Men in Blue are hosting England in the fourth Test of the five-match series at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. After winning two tosses on the trot, this time it was the England skipper who came out on top and invited the hosts to field first.
While the hosts put up a stellar performance in the first session of Day 1, Joe Root and Ben Foakes steadied the inning for the visitors as they helped England to put 300-plus runs on the board at Stumps on Day 1 of the fourth Test. The hosts thereafter lost all their reviews inside the next 60 overs as the two batters went on to stitch a century partnership.
Just when India opted to for a review, the cameraman panned out to skipper Rohit Sharma and one of such instances is now doing rounds. With around nine players surrounding the skipper during one of the reviews and the umpire turned it down, the focus continued to be on Sharma, who even gestured towards the cameraman to focus on the DRS rather than on him.
However, it was not the first time Rohit did this. A similar instance took place during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2023.

Not the best of referrals: Sunil Gavaskar
Soon after Rohit Sharma was zoomed by the cameraman, legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, who was part of the commentary panel at that time, called this decision of Rohit a bad call. “Not the best of referrals. Rohit wasn’t keen. It was pretty much like he was forced into it. There was just a hint of turn, the batter would have been in trouble but the ball went straight through. Didn’t even hit the back pad; just hit the front,” Gavaskar said.
Nick Knight also agreed with Gavaskar as India lost all three reviews at that point of time. “It was an emotional review from Jadeja who was pleading with Rohit to go upstairs. But I am with you; this did not look convincing,” Knight said while commentating on Day 1 of fourth Test.
