Team India is well ahead on Day 1 in the 1st Test against Australia. After bundling out the visitors on 177, Indian openers stitched a 50+ partnership to frustrate Australian bowlers. While it looked India will end the day on a high, KL Rahul's wicket in the penultimate over of the day spoiled the party.
Indian openers were looking in great touch and were cruising ahead with lot of ease, before debutant Todd Murphy caught and bowled Indian vice-captain. Rahul faced 71 deliveries and could only add 20 runs on board before he was hunted down by Australian off-spinner.
While KL Rahul’s dismissal was a major setback for the host and Indian cricket fans as everyone was expecting a better show from the Indian vice-captain, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who was standing at the non-striker end, appeared devasted with the development.
