On Tuesday, November 6, Sachin Tendulkar, the Bharat Ratna and the ICC Global Ambassador had an interaction with the Afghanistan cricket team at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The Afghan players and support staff were spotted in a huddle when Sachin Tendulkar shared his pearls of wisdom about cricket, on the eve of their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 game against Australia.

After sharing his thoughts in an interaction which lasted around 20 minutes, Sachin Tendulkar had a separate talk with his former Indian teammate Ajay Jadeja, the mentor, and Jonathan Trott, the head coach of Afghanistan, as per the report from Sportstar. He also discussed with the Chief of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Mirwais Ashraf.

Taking to their official X account, the ACB sent out a post, in which they shared the video of Sachin Tendulkar with the Afghan players and support staff. They revealed that the former Indian captain praised the recent success of Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup 2023 while sharing his invaluable insights with the entire squad.

Rashid Khan shared his thoughts about Sachin Tendulkar addressing the Afghanistan cricket team on the official website of the ICC Cricket World Cup. He was quoted as saying, “It is a special moment for each and every one. Meeting him on a very special occasion here in one Wankhede, I think it's a different feeling. And definitely, it's given lots of positive energy to the guys, to the team. It's a kind of dream for lots of players to meet him.”

“I just want to say thank you so much for coming here. I know lots of people start cricket watching you and you are a role model for everyone back home in Afghanistan. So on behalf of the whole of Afghanistan, massive thank you for coming here, spending this very important time with us. I'm pretty sure this will give these guys lots of energy, lots of positive things. And meeting you was a dream of everyone,” the captain of Afghanistan in T20I format said.
