After being acquired by the Punjab Kings for a whopping amount of INR 18.5 crore in the IPL 2023, England all-rounder Sam Curran became the most expensive purchase in IPL history for a season. The swashbuckling all-rounder has recently revealed the names of three batters he would wish to dismiss as part of his dream T20 hat-trick.
Sam Curran was replaced as the most expensive player in the IPL after the Kolkata Knight Riders bought Australian pacer Mitchell Starc in the IPL 2024 mini-auction for INR 24.75 crore. In the IPl 2023, Curran played 14 matches for the PBKS scoring 276 runs at an average of 27.60 while he picked up 10 wickets at an economy of above 10.
During an interview with ESPNcricinfo, Sam Curran revealed the three T20 batters who would make up his dream T20 hat-trick. Curran began with India skipper and MI opener Rohit Sharma followed by West Indies and KKR all-rounder Andre Russell, and England's white-ball skipper and RR opener Jos Buttler.

In the IPL 2024, Curran has played four matches so far, scoring 91 runs including a half-century at an average of 22.75 and a strike rate of more than 120. On the bowling front, the 25-year-old all-rounder picked four wickets at an average of 21.50, which is less than half of his average from last season. The PBKS will next host Pat Cummins' SunRisers Hyderabad at the MYS Cricket Stadium in Tira, Punjab on Tuesday, April 9 in the IPL 2024.
