The leg-break bowler first got rid of Hasaranga, who tried to hit the ball out of the park, but it went straight in the hands of Muhammad Waseem. On the very next delivery, he dismissed Agha Salman. The right-handed batter failed to defend the looped-up delivery by Khan and eventually went on to hit the stumps. He completed the hat-trick by bowling a googly to get the wicket of Pawan Rathnayak.
With this, Shadab Khan became the only second bowler after Wanindu Hasaranga to pick hat-trick in the history of Lanka Premier League (LPL). The Colombo Strikers bowler finished with the figures of 4/22 in his four-over spell, bagging the Player of the Match.
