The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ended their IPL trophy draught after they beat the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2024 final on Sunday, May 26 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Shreyas Iyer-led side who were coming back after a brilliant league stage performance and finishing at the top of the points table, continued their dominant run.
The side not only clinched their third IPL title, but also ended their 10-year-wait to get their hands on the coveted trophy. Soon after this emphatic victory, the team along with the support staff and the other members of team celebrated in style. In one of their celebrations, KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan also took the field along with his family to celebrate the victory.
As he also met players of the KKR IPL winning squad, in one of the incidents, when he met pacer Harshit Rana, who had a good campaign, was seen imitating his ‘flying kiss’ celebration , video of which is going viral on social media. Moreover, the Bollywood celebrity hugged Rana and celebrated the win.

Speaking of the match, the Pat Cummins-led SunRisers Hyderabad, who entered the finale after beating the Rajasthan Royals by 36 runs in Qualifier 2 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, won the toss and opted to put the score first on the board. However, despite the likes of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and other players, they were bundled out at the score of 113 in 18.3 overs.
While Andre Russell claimed three wickets, Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana bagged two wickets each with Vaibhav Arora, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakarvarthy ending with a wicket each. In pursuit of the 114-run target, KKR comfortable rose to the occasion and claimed a comfortable win, chasing the total in just 10.3 overs.
