32-year-old pacer Mohammed Shami stole all the limelight on Monday as he delivered a magical spell against Australia in the final over to defend 11 runs in the warm-up match ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022. Notably, the veteran pacer was not the first choice for the selectors but later joined the squad as a replacement for pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah after the latter was ruled out of the ICC tournament.

While bowling his only over in the warm-up game, Shami rattled Australia's batting lineup as he picked 3 wickets and assisted one run-out to clinch a thrilling victory for Men in Blue.

Ever since Shami delivered stunned the cricket world with his remarkable comeback in the T20 international set-up, appreciation is coming from all quarters for the veteran pacer. Meanwhile, the Indian pacer was spotted having an interaction with Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi ahead of the warmup match. 

The video of the same has been going viral on the internet and many Pakistan cricket are making light-heart claims like Shami's incredible performance was the reason that he took tips from the Pakistan pacer. In one such video, Shaheen Shah can be seen standing at stumps and exchanging tips with the Indian speedster.

Meanwhile, Pakistan was outplayed by England in their warmup game as the latter clinched the match by 6 wickets. After posting 160/8 in 1st innings, Pakistan bowlers failed to defend the total as England bettered the target with 163/4 in the second innings. Ben Stokes (36 off 18), Liam Livingstone (28 off 16) and Harry Brook (45 off 24) and Sam Curran (33 off 14) delivered instrumental performances in the game.
