Then as Imad Wasim came up to bat, the left-arm spinner picked up a quick wicket and sent back Delany. Then against Mark Adair, Wasim managed to get the Irishman to slog which didn't connect well. As the ball looped up,  Shaheen Afridi and Usman Khan rushed under the ball and then collided only before the former captain held onto a difficult chance.

In the mid-innings show, Shaheen Afridi spoke about how he tried to bowl full and generate swing with the new ball. Afridi said,  "I am always trying to strike early on. I was trying to bowl fuller and the inswinger. We thought the appeals were close. If you pick wickets in the first few overs, opposition is under pressure. The new ball might be tricky."
