The Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson claimed that Tottenham will never win the Premier League, laughing away at the prospect of it, when the question was put forth to him. In the 2023-24 season, Tottenham have played some of their best football under new manager Ange Postecoglou, but still the former Manchester United manager isn’t convinced about them.
During his managerial days, Sir Alex Ferguson wasn’t too fond of the North London club either and at one point, he delivered his famous, “Lads, it’s Tottenham,” team talk to hype up his Manchester United players during one of their close matches. And now, over 15 years later, his views about Tottenham and how the club is run hasn’t changed one bit.
No: Sir Alex Ferguson on Tottenham's chances of winning PL
When the Sky Sports correspondent asked Sir Alex Ferguson whether he thinks that Tottenham will ever win the Premier League, he categorically said, “No!” before failing to stop his laughter at the thought of the North London club taking home the championship. He remarked, “No, ’61 was the last time they won it, well that’s a long time. But the opposition today with Liverpool and Manchester City being so powerful in the Premier League. Even for United now, we’re having to fight.”
Then, he was asked if Tottenham are more likely to win the Premier League title before Manchester United, to which he gave an emphatic response, “No chance!” It led to the Sky Sports correspondent abruptly completing the interview with Sir Alex Ferguson.

The 2023-24 season of the Premier League is currently in its 24th weekend, where Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal are separated by a handful of points in their bid to win the championship at the end of the season.
