The second innings of the 1st ODI between India and Australia got off to a brilliant start courtesy of Sneh Rana and her magical catch. The Women in Blue recovered well while batting as they posted a competitive total of 282 at the loss of eight wickets. After a slow start, India's number five, Jemimah Rodrigues batted brilliantly to score 86 before Pooja Vastrakar joined the party with a rapid half-century.
In the second innings, chasing this massive total, wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy tried to slash away Renuka Singh Thakur's away swinger. Unfortunately for the Australian Test captain, Sneh Rana put in a full-stretch dive at gully to complete an incredible catch.

We wanted to have 270 on the board: Pooja Vastrakar
Coming back to the Indian batting effort, Pooja Vastrakar smashed a stunning 46-ball 62 with seven fours and two sixes to catapult the total to 282. Speaking about this performance, Vastrakar described how the team managed to exceed its expected total of 270 and praised Jemimah Rodrigues for a gritty 86-run knock.
Speaking in the mid-innings interview, Pooja Vastrakar said, "We wanted to have 270 on the board. The plan was to keep wickets till the end and then think about the final score depending on the situation. We weren't targetting any particular bowler but we wanted to get boundaries off the loose balls.
Got a lot of motivation from Jemimah and always wanted to run hard between the wickets. Whatever we have on the board, feel it is enough to defend. Really happy, feel really pleased especially when you score against a team like Australia."
