The second day of the  Indian Premier League (IPL)  was nothing less than a package of entertainment. While the Punjab Kings sealed victory from the mouth of the Delhi Capitals at the Maharaja Y.S. International Stadium in Mullanpur, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) snatched victory from the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad to kickstart their campaign on a high. 

After being invited to bat first, the home side posted 208 runs on the board, courtesy Andre Russell’s unbeaten 64-run knock with consisted of seven maximums and three boundaries and Philip Salt’s maiden half century in IPL 2024 for KKR. After posting the first 200-plus run score on the board, the side successfully defended the total.

With SRH needing 13 runs from the final over, Shreyas Iyer handed Harshit Rana with the ball. However, the young pacer proved his worth a s  he successfully defended the runs. With five needed of two deliveries, it was Suyash Sharma, who completed a brilliant flying catch to dismiss in-form batter Heinrich Klaasen at a crucial juncture. 

The young sensation completed a flying catch running backwards from short third man to dismiss Klaasen. The action did not stop here, Harshit Rana, who bowled this delivery also gave a furious Virat Kohli-like sendoff to Klaasen.

Notably, it was the first sendoff for Rana. Earlier in the match, Harshit Rana also gave a send off to Mayank Agarwal by blowing him a kiss after dismissing him in the sixth over of the inning.
