The Bayern Munich and German footballer Thomas Muller wore the coveted No. 18 jersey of Virat Kohli in the Indian colours to wish the team good luck for their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign. Team India are set to take on New Zealand in the first of the two semi-finals in the CWC 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, November 15.

The former FIFA World Cup 2023 winner for Germany, was spotted on camera, unboxing the jersey of the Indian cricket team. The music box had the chant “India, India” from the crowd reverberating, which put a massive smile on the face of Thomas Muller before he showed the front and the back of Virat Kohli’s No. 18 jersey in the Indian colours to the camera.
It led to the 34-year-old being quoted as saying, “Thank you Team India for the shirt, and good luck at the World Cup.” Then he proceeded to wear the Indian jersey while saying, “It’s a pleasure. I have to try and play cricket in my garden. Thank you.”

The video shared by Thomas Muller went viral on the social media platform X, which had the fans of cricket and football making various kinds of reactions. Moreover, apart from India competing against New Zealand in the first semi-final, Australia will take on South Africa in the second semi-final of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday, November 16.
