Australian superstar Travis Head started the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season with a bang in the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) colours, bringing up his fifty in just 21 balls against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in front of his home fans at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The 31-year-old continued from where he left off in the last IPL season, taking the RR bowlers to the cleaners in the power play stage, and took his innings further.

Travis Head took a special liking to English fast bowler Jofra Archer, smashing him for four fours and one maximum in the fifth over of the SRH batting effort, to take his innings into overdrive. The left-handed batter had got his innings rolling earlier with a four and a six off Maheesh Theekshana, while not sparing the likes of Sandeep Sharma, Fazalhaq Farooqui, and Nitish Rana as well.

But, in the 10th over of the innings of SRH, Tushar Deshpande found a way to pick up the big wicket of Travis Head for 67 runs in 31 balls with nine fours and three maximums. The Australian was trying to lift him over the mid-off region, but he only managed to find Shimron Hetymer at the edge of the circle, where he took a vital catch.
