While Bangladesh defeated Pakistan to clinch the bronze medal in the Men's Cricket event at the Asian Games 2023 on Saturday morning, Team India and Afghanistan are currently battling for the gold medal match at the continental showpiece. During the Men's T20I final in Hangzhou, Afghanistan skipper Gulbadin Naib bumped into the umpire at the non-striker's end, leading the match official to fall on the ground.
Team India continued their dominant run at the Asian Games 2023 as they removed half of the Afghani side in 11 overs at a score of 52 runs. During the 15th over by Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, Afghani skipper Naib tapped the second delivery for a quick single and went on to bump into the umpire at the non-striker's end.
While Naib was looking at the fielder, the umpire had his eyes set on the crease whether the player completed the run or not before the throw. The umpire fell on the ground following the collision, fortunately, the player and the umpire avoided any potential injury.
