Himachal locked horns with Pondicherry in the Elite Group B clash at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Earlier, Himachal skipper Rishi Dhawan won the toss and invited the rivals to put score on the board first. Vaibhav Arora delivers striking yorker to dismiss Pondicherry’s Jay Pande
On the fourth ball of the 25th over, Arora delivered a stunning yorker to put an end to Jay Pande’s stay on the crease. The Himachal bowler delivered a deadly in-swinging yorker to dismantle the stumps, leaving Pande bamboozled. The Pondicherry batter had to walk back to the pavilion after a short stay of 2 runs off 24 deliveries. Notably, Arora is a promising pacer who did well for his franchise KKR in the IPL. However, the franchise had to make a choice between him and Harshit Rana and the IPL 2024 winners went ahead with the latter and let go of him.
As of writing, Puducherry were batting 282 runs with the loss of six wickets. Ganga Sridhar Raju and Arun Karthik came up with remarkable knocks and missed their well-deserved centuries. Raju scored 96 runs off 118 runs while Karthik came up with 95 runs off 107 balls.
