Van essa Bryant, the wife of late legendary basketball player Kobe Bryant gifts the Iowa Women’s Basketball team with Kobe’s sneaker version of Nike Kobe 8 “Venice Beach” shoes as the tea m gear up for their 2024 NCAA tournament against 5 seed Colorado on Saturday.
Before their crucial Sweet 16 game, all the players from the team were presented with a pair of special shoes and was presented by their coach Lisa Bluder, who she quipped as a surprise during a meeting with all the players in the conference room.
However, this isn’t the first time the group has been gifted with fashionable footwear. Caitlin Clark, who holds an endorsing deal with Nike gifted all the players a new pair of Nikes to celebrate her 22nd birthday.
Nike to re-launch Kobe 8 Pr otro ‘Venice Beach’ sneaker after 11 years
Global sports and footwear brand Nike is set to re-release their famous Nike Kobe 8 Protro ‘Venice Beach’ sneaker after more than a decade since its launch in 2013. All three geographically themed Nike Kobe sneakers will be back on the same day which also includes a Los Angeles-inspired colourway, different from Laker's makeups.
It’s a tie-dye-esque pattern in various colours turquoise, red, yellow, and grey which defines the vibrancy of Los Angeles neighborhood and famous streetball scene. Blue makes the stabilizer for heels and soles while grey describes the outsole. In the outlines, yellow takes the swoosh and consists of red dots for laces. The sock liner has a red line with legendary Kobe Bryant’s signature.
