Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer smashed an incredible century against Mumbai Indians at the Wankheded Stadium. With this milestone, Iyer became the second-only player to score a century for KKR after Brendon Mccullum, who achieved the feat in the first-ever IPL game in 2008 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

After scoring a century, Venkatesh Iyer soon got out at the score of 104 in 51 balls and helped the Knight Riders post a total of 185 runs in their stipulated 20 overs. Further reacting to this performance, Iyer spoke about how he was focusing on racking up runs for the teams. He then expressed that he tried to stay in the moment and not get ahead of himself.
Iyer, in the mid-innings interview, said, " Feels great, coming to Mumbai and a game is always special. Getting a hundred is even more special. I think the boys will defend this total. I want to play for the team, I am not going to think about the 16th over when I am in the 6th over, just try to focus on the present moment, don't want to think far too ahead."
