Former RCB captain Virat Kohli was again in his element during the IPL 2024 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders. Bengaluru hosted Shreyas Iyer and Co. during the 10th fixture of the tournament at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB’s batting superstar put on a powerful performance during the game and played a notable inning of 83* runs to give the rivals the target of 18 2 runs.
Kohli came to open with skipper Faf du Plessis and played a brilliant knock to give the side an upper hand. While the batting wizard proved to be dangerous for the rival bowlers, he didn’t miss any chance to entertain the crowd. Just before the beginning of the 16th over, the 35-year-old batter was seen performing funny dance moves. To see their cricketing hero in a jolly mood was no less than a delight for the fans.
The owner got the text: Kate Cross reveals Virat Kohli’s heartwarming plan for RCB WPL team
England pacer Kate Cross revealed that it was Virat Kohli who came up with the idea to honour the RCB Women’s team. Notably, the Smriti Mandhana-led side defeated Delhi Capitals Women in the final of the WPL 2024 to lift their maiden trophy. RCB’s IPL team, who haven’t been able to win any trophy in the men’s cash-rich league so far, appreciated the women’s team during the RCB’s Unbox event.
During the event, the men’s team along with the entire RCB staff gave a guard of honour to Smriti Mandhana and Co. During the IPL 2024, RCB all-rounder Cross told BBC that it was none other than Kohli’s plan to do so. Cross revealed, “The honour got the text from Virat Kohli saying, we should honour the girls on Sunday.”
