Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli hurt himself in a very unusual way in the ongoing 2021 IPL opener against Mumbai Indians. While fielding on the ground, Kohli let a straight catch slip from his hands and hit his right eye. The injury in no time left a red spot on the region below Kohli's right eye, which suffered the hit.

Playing a full delivery bowled by Kyle Jamieson, Krunal Pandya hit the ball straight to Kohli at cover but a casual approach from the RCB skipper saw the ball going through his hands and do the damage. The extent of the hit is still unknown, while Kohli continued to take the field even after the injury.

RCB restrict Mumbai Indians for 159/9

Riding on Harshal Patel's first-ever fifer, RCB restricted MI on mere 159/9 in the IPL 2021 opener on Friday. Everything was going hunky-dory for Mumbai while opener Chris Lynn and Suryakumar Yadav were batting at the crease. However, the tables turned in favour of Bengaluru as soon as Suryakumar (31 off 23) lost his wicket to Kyle Jamieson following which Washington Sundar produced a brilliant caught and bowled to dismiss Lynn on 49. Ishan Kishan (28 off 19) made vital contribution but it was a brilliant five-wicket haul from Harshal Patel (5/27) towards the end of the first innings that brought Virat Kohli’s side back in the contest.
