Virat Kohli is known for his batting prowess, but he is also a brilliant fielder who can pull off stunning catches. The Indian captain proved his skills once again in the first ODI against West Indies at the Kensington Oval, Barbados.
Kohli took a one-handed screamer at the second slip to dismiss West Indies all-rounder Romario Shepherd for a second-ball duck. The incident happened in the 18th over of the West Indies innings, when Shepherd edged one off left-arm offspinner Ravindra Jadeja.
Jadeja bowled one full just outside off and Shepherd tried to drive it powerfully through covers but managed to just get a thick edge. The ball went low and fast towards Kohli and he dived to his right to take an amazing one-handed catch. Kohli’s effort in the field has always given India some edge on the field and has inspired the next generation to be above-average fielders.

West Indies are in deep trouble in the first ODI as they are all out for just 114 in their first innings. No batsman from the West Indian setup stepped up with Shai Hope being the only player who crossed the 30-run mark. For the Indians, the spinning duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav took three and four wickets respectively. The chase for India is expected to be pretty straightforward but the Indians will look to complete it as flawlessly as possible.
