The Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are hosting the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 36th fixture of the IPL 2024. While the Faf du Plessis-led side are coming into this match on the back of a five-game losing streak, the KKR lost their previous match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a last-ball thriller.
However, earlier in the match, it was RCB who won the toss and invited the home side to bat first. While Philip Salt gave a brisk start to the home side, the RCB bowlers stepped up to dismiss the top three batters in the KKR lineup. However, RCB bowling has been one of the disappointments in the ongoing edition of IPL, Virat Kohli was seen rolling his arms.
With the fans chanting “Kohli ko bowling do”, the former RCB skipper was quick to fulfil fans’ request as he handed his Orange Cap to the umpire and was seen marking a run-up. While the fans also brought in chants looking at Kohli to open the attack for the first time, it turned out to be a joke.

The RCB star batter, Virat Kohli, who is also the leading run-scorer in the IPL 2024 was seen taking up bowling practice ahead of their match against the KKR at the Eden Gardens. As the other bowlers marked their run-up during their net session, Kohli was also spotted bowling in the nets.
It is to be noted that Virat Kohli last bowled in IPL 2016. However, the Indian batter sits at the top of the table with 361 runs from seven innings, with a strike rate of 147.34 and an average of 72.20. His highest score of unbeaten 113 came against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
