The placard said, “I can outstare Andrew Tye”. As the camera zoomed in on the child holding this poster, the young boy locked his eyes with extreme intensity. Moments later, as the camera panned towards Andrew Tye, the Perth bowler was ready as he had eyes focused while waving his finger at the kid.

Talking about the game, the Perth Scorchers and the Melbourne Renegades were involved in big-scoring nail-bitter which went right down to the wire. Batting first, the Scorchers posted a massive score of 212 on the back of Cameron Bancroft’s 94. Then in the second innings, Melbourne pushed hard but fell short by just 10 runs in the end despite Aaron Finch’s incredible 76-run knock.

Addressing his match-winning performance, Cameron Bancroft was at a loss for words and stated that he focused on pacing his innings. He said, “I don't know how to describe what was going on there in the last 10 overs. It was all happening. We made it exciting. At the end of the day, the main goal was to win and get a home final and we've done that so it's fantastic. I tried to pace my innings as well as I could, managed to hit the boundaries and just when we felt like taking the Power Surge we lost wickets, so had to rebuild again. I felt like I hit the ball well tonight.”
