Former footballer and AC Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic made a surprise visit to the Italian club’s training session ahead of the Champions League clash against Newcastle. Ibrahimovic re-joined Milan in 2020 before he finally hung up his boots in June 2022. The Swedish drew curtains on his career after the final Serie A match of the last season against Verona.

The 41-year-old scored a total of 76 goals in Serie A across his stints with the club. After being sidelined for the remainder of the last season after a calf injury, Ibrahimovic realised that age caught up on him and he bid adieu to the Milan fans in an emotional farewell.

Considered one of the most reliable and influential figures in the club over the years, Zlatan joined the coach Stefano Pioli to give a boost to the members. Notably, Milan lost to rivals Inter Milan 5-1 in their last fixture of the Champions League on Saturday, September 16.

They will now take on Newcastle on September 19, Tuesday in the group stage opener of the ongoing league. Speaking of the football legend, Zlatan is one of the eleven players to have played more than 100 games for the Sweden national team. Not only this, but he also remains his country’s all-time leading scorer with 62 goals.
