C ricket has been of key significance when we talk of sports in general. With several cricketing leagues underway in several parts of the world, the key highlight from Monday, August 21 was India’s squad for Asia Cup 2023. Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar, along with Team India skipper Rohit Sharma announced the 17-member squad for the 50-over Asia Cup. While it had some surprise inclusions, the squad also had some prominent names miss out.

Team India announces 17-member squad for Asia Cup 2023
The Men in Blue on Monday named a 17-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. While the squad saw return of KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav was also named as the lone spinner in the 17-men squad. Additionally, Sanju Samson has been picked as a travelling reserve with KL Rahul suffering from a slight niggle.

A notable miss from the 17-member squad was Yuzvendra Chahal. The 33-year-old who first missed the 2021 T20 World Cup, followed by not getting a single game in the 2022 T20 World Cup last year, missed a place in the 17-member side also. After this snub from the squad for the 50-over Asia Cup, the leg-spinner took to social media to break his silence, sharing a cryptic post.
