While the day saw Pakistan vs India once again being called off due to incessant rains in Colombo, the play will now resume on the reserve day, that is, Monday, 11 September. Although the match was halted due to rain, there were several moments which captured the attention including the unique technique used by the groundstaff to dry the outfield and Afridi’s heartwarming gesture for Indian spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.

India locked horns with arch-rivals Pakistan in the Super Fours clash of the Asia Cup 2023 on September 10, Sunday. While India was batting at 147 with the loss of two wickets, sudden rainfall brought the high-octane game to a standstill.

Pakistan pacer  Shaheen Afridi  congratulated the Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah on becoming a father.  Bumrah and his wife, Indian sports presenter, Sanjana Ganesan welcomed their first child on Monday, September 4.   In a video posted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the Pakistan pacer could be seen congratulating Bumrah. Not only this, but he also gave him a gift and extended his warm wishes for the newborn.

After the rain subsided  during the all-important game , the ground staff were spotted using a unique technique to dry the outfield. They were seen using a few electric fans to quicken the process of drying the outfield.

Pakistan Super League franchise Quetta Gladiators had a hilarious suggestion for the  Asia Cup 2023  organisers.   Gladiators advised the organisers to do something they did a few years ago to dry the wet outfield. During the PSL eliminator encounter between  Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi in 2018, organisers used a helicopter to dry the damp ground.

The highly-anticipated Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s match-up between India and Pakistan was stopped after sudden rainfall in Colombo's R. Premadasa Stadium. Immediately as the ground staff started covering the ground, Pakistan's opener Fakhar Zaman joined in to help these workers.

Prasad said that his criticism wasn't targeted towards any individual and was completely towards the ticketing and scheduling fiasco. Notably, Prasad earlier on Sunday, September 10, morning edited an earlier deleted tweet wherein he talked about how corruption affects the leadership.

Former India batting coach  Sanjay Bangar  compared modern-day great  Virat Kohli  with the all-time cricketing legend Sir Vivian Richards. Bangar, who is a part of the  Asia Cup 2023 commentary panel , said that the only player in the world who can match the former Indian captain's playing style was Sir Issav Vivian Richards.
