With this victory, Kolkata also took home their third IPL title after triumphs in 2012 and 2014. The SRH batting collapsed in the first inning as they were bundled out for 113-10 in 18.3 overs with Andre Russell registering 3-23 in only 2.3 overs and Mitchell Starc picked two wickets in 3 overs after giving just 14 runs. After losing Sunil Narine cheaply, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ventakesh Iyer put forth a 91-run stand which won the game for Kolkata.
