Erling Haaland’s second consecutive hat-trick helped Manchester City beat West Ham United 3-1 on Saturday, August 31. With this win, the Citizens maintained their perfect start and lead in the Premier League table. The 24-year-old Norwegian scored his 11th hat-trick for City to extend the champions’ perfect start to their title defence. He also notched his seventh goal in three league games this season.

Manchester United sign Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint Germain

Manchester United completed the signing of midfielder Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint Germain (PSG) for an initial fee of £42m. The 23-year-old became the club’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window taking their overall spending to just over £190m. Ugarte made 37 appearances for PSG across all tournaments after joining them for a reported fee of £50.5m and also helped them to their 12th Ligue 1 title.

Napoli’s David Neres robbed at gunpoint after Serie A clash

In a statement released by the San Francisco 49ers, their wide receiver Ricky Pearsall is in a “stable condition” in hospital after sustaining a bullet wound to his chest.
