Newcastle United have put Dan Ashworht, the Sporting Director, on gardening leave after he told them about wanting to join Manchester United amidst interest from the English giants. The 52-year-old, who is under contract with Newcastle United until 2025, can’t join any other club unless compensation is agreed, which is why the Magpies could reportedly ask for a fee well in excess of £10m to let him go to Manchester United.

Bayern Munich stumble to third straight defeats in nine days

Tiger Woods reveals flu as reason behind  withdrawing from Genesis Invitational  

American golfer Tiger   Woods revealed the reason behind his withdrawal from the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. Taking to social media, Woods shared,  "I would like to confirm that I had to withdraw from (the Genesis Invitational) due to illness, which we now know is influenza," the 15-time major champion wrote on Twitter. "I am resting and feeling better. Good luck to the players this weekend. I'm disappointed to not be there and want to thank (the tournament) and all the fans for the support."

Australian Open 2024 winner Jannik  Sinner lifted his first major since defeating Daniil Medvedev in Melbourne Park by taking down  Alex de Minaur  7-5 6-4  in the Rotterdam final.  and extended his winning streak to 12 matches. Argentine wild card Facundo Diaz Acosta took home his maiden ATP title in Buenos Aires on Sunday by defeating Nicolas Jarry, who took down Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals. World number 87 Diaz Acosta registered a 6-3, 6-4 victory, sealing the triumph on a sixth match point. Before this triumph, 23-year-old southpaw Diaz Acosta had only won four tour-level matches in his career. But this victory has catapulted him to 59 in the world rankings.
