Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the former Swedish striker, is reportedly in discussion to rejoin AC Milan in a non-playing role, just five months after his retirement from club football. If the discussion between AC Milan and the 42-year-old turns out to be fruitful, then he could act as the ambassador of the club and a member of the backroom staff of the manager Stefano Pioli.
During his two stints with AC Milan, which lasted for around five years, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was instrumental in bringing the coveted Serie A title to the club in his second coming in 2022 after more than 10 years of wait. Notably, when the playing days for the Swedish footballing superstar ended with AC Milan, he showcased his unwavering support for the club, talking about being a “Milanista for life.”

As per the report from the Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are looking to appoint Zlatan Ibrahimovic to an unofficial role within the club, which will see him take the responsibility of being the ambassador and a member of the backroom staff. The preliminary discussion between the 42-year-old and the Chief Investment Officer of the club owners happened at a meeting in a hotel located on Corso Venezia on Monday, November 7, lasting for around two hours.
The Chief Executive Officer of AC Milan, Giorgio Furlani talked about the latest development and said, "There’s a chance to have Zlatan Ibrahimovic back with us in the management. We are on it, we’d be proud of that. We are in talks with Zlatan to discuss the next steps."
