Uday Saharan (born on 08 September 2004) is an Indian cricketer, who is currently leading the Under-19 side at the 2024 World Cup. Uday Saharan in his debut Youth ODI match itself played as captain and lead his side to semi-final of ACC U-19 Asia Cup 2023, which happened in December 2023 in Dubai. He recorded his highest score of 112 in Youth ODIs against South Africa in the Tri-Nation Under-19 tournament in South Africa in January 2024.
India remained unbeaten in the Tri-Nation Under-19 tournament in South Africa under his leadership and ended as joint-winners with South Africa as the final got abandoned without a ball being bowled. In the ongoing 2024 U-19 WC, he has been the second highest run-scorer of this tournament (308) with two fifties and a century to his name at a batting average of 61.6.
Interestingly, in the match against Nepal on Friday, February 2, he became only fourth captain to smash a century for India in U-19 World Cup. Uday Saharan has scored 505 runs from 11 innings in his Youth ODI career at an impressive average of 50.5 so far. Indian team in the U-19 WC 2024 have so far remained unbeaten in the tournament with four wins in four games.
