Now, another player has made his debut in IPL 2025, as Delhi Capitals take on Lucknow Super Giants in match number four of the season in Visakhapatnam. 20-year-old Vipraj Nigam played his first match of IPL against LSG while playing for DC.
In his debut IPL game, Vipraj Nigam ended up taking Aiden Markram’s wicket. However, he couldn’t add more wickets to his tally and finished with figures of 1/35 in four overs. However, he is looking promising for the rest of the IPL season and is likely to get more chances for DC.
Who is Vipraj Nigam?
Vipraj Nigam is a leg-spinner, who hails from Uttar Pradesh. He earned the limelight for his performance in the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he ended up taking eight wickets in seven matches. He also showed great power with the bat, where he smashed 27 runs off just eight balls in a game against Andhra Pradesh.
Vipraj Nigam again impressed with his batting skills in the DC’s intra-squad practice game ahead of IPL 2025. He ended up scoring 54 runs off 29 balls, hitting seven fours and two sixes. He was picked by DC for INR 50 Lakh in the IPL 2025 mega auction. He looked promising with the ball in his first game and will be looking to get a match-winning performance in other games for DC in IPL 2025.
