As South Africa stepped on the field to lock horns with Bangladesh in 2nd ODI of the ongoing series, things looked slightly different. The players of home side were not wearing the usual green jerseys, but instead they were spotted donning the pink jersey. This is a sight which has been seen in past as well but not many people are aware about the significance of the same.

Well, this is known as Pink ODI where Cricket South Africa play their role in raising awareness for Breast Cancer while organizing a massive drive to collect money for the patients suffering from it. From the Proteas' players to commentators, everyone wears pink coloured attired and even the fans are encouraged to don the same shade in order to contribute to the noble cause.

The big game is usually played at Imperial Wanderers in Johannesburg which is why South African players are wearing pink jersey against Bangladesh on Sunday.

South Africa are playing their 10th Pink ODI

Before today, Proteas have played 9 Pink ODIs winning 8 of them and only losing 1. The home side have a history of producing remarkable performances wearing the Pink jersey and fans would be hoping for the same today, with Temba Bavuma's side desperate for a win to stay alive in the series.
